about.com - graphic design
about.com has in-depth information and/or links to thousands of topics. Graphic Design is no exception. There are always some interesting topics on these pages.
  Quark
QuarkXPress remains the industry standard page-layout application. Despite attempts to widen its product line, Quark has found that Adobe and Macromedia are formidable competitors. quark.com offers a complete set of tutorials on QuarkXPress, as well as updates, links to free Xtensions and third-party Xtension developers.

Adobe
Adobe is in some ways, the creator of desktop publishing. With the creation of Postscript, Photoshop and the purchase of desktop publishing pioneer Aldus, Adobe is the biggest name in print design. Whether you use Adobe's page layout software or Quark's, chances are very high you're using some Adobe software. The Adobe site has a wealth of resources, including tutorials, free filters and actions and much more. If you haven't already explored adobe.com and adobestudio.com, check them out now!
  Macromedia
While Macromedia has largely forsaken it's print design customers, it stills offers two top-notch print design programs: Freehand 10 and Fontographer. If you do mostly web design but need to occassionally do flyers, business cards, etc. Freehand can do the job. Many illustrators still prefer it to Illustrator or CorelDraw. Fontographer hasn't been upgraded in years, but remains one of the leading font creation and editing packages. Macromedia's site definitely doesn't emphasize print publishing, but you can still find relevant information on these two products.

Print Magazine
One of the longest running magazines, Print has a good mix of thoughtful articles and well-produced picture galleries of the latest in design and advertising. Some content is available online, but to get the most out of it, you'll need to subscribe to the printed edition.
